Saint Petersburg can boast many great Russian restaurants, but it also has some standout foreign cuisine. And some of these restaurants manage to live up to their reputation. This is the case for Probka, an Italian restaurant. Originally, its owner, Aram Mnatsakanov, imported wines from Italy and France.
Now he runs a group of restaurants in Saint Petersburg and Moscow. All are highly popular among locals and tourists. This one is located on the ground floor of an office building. The vitello tonnato is superb, as are the salads, linguine with seafood, fresh ravioli, and pizza, all accompanied by excellent wines by the glass or bottle. The list has more than a hundred wines from around the world. Admittedly, this restaurant is located a bit outside of downtown, but it is easily accessible by metro (Sportivnaya station).
