Orsay Museum enters CCBB

Published on 07-18-2016 Agenda

After Sao Paulo and Barcelona, Orsay Museum's key exhibition puts neo-impressionists and Fauves to the foreground in Rio.

Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil is one of the most important Brazilian cultural establishments. It has antennas in Brasilia, São Paulo, Belo Horizonte and Rio de Janeiro. The latter is located in an Art Deco building of the historical district in Rio, and it welcomes a phenomenal exhibition entitled “The Triumph of Colour: From Van Gogh to Matisse, the collections of the Musée d'Orsay and the Musée de l'Orangerie”.

Wonderful works by Signac, Seurat, Van Gogh, Matisse and Gauguin come from the prestigious Parisian Museum and offer a pictorial exploration under the avant-garde use of colour at the end of the 18th century, up to the Fauves who at the turn of the 20th century used colour as a language in itself.
