Lynn: the soft flesh of the mandarin fish

Take time to discover contemporary Shanghainese dishes made from beef shank, braised lamb, and tender mandarin fish.

This very successful restaurant specialises in contemporary Shanghainese cooking. Just steps from the East Nanjing Road shopping street, a bright, spacious room, adorned with a large orange wall at one end, awaits you.

Note: the back room can be reserved for private parties. The menu is varied, accurately translated into English, and includes beautiful, appetising pictures of each dish. Go for crispy Shanghainese duck, flavoured with ginger or marinated in rice wine. Beef hock with wine sauce, and braised lamb with crepes are worth a visit. In terms of fish, opt for the soft flesh of the mandarin, a local speciality, or more, specifically, from Zhejiang province south of Shanghai. Lynn also has toasted noodles, pork and chilli dim sum, and a very pleasant brunch at the weekend.
