In two decades, the popularity of Breton chef Nathalie Beauvais is still going strong.

‘The little fairy chef of Morbihan' is what Joel Robuchon calls Nathalie Beauvais. This energetic woman is one of the high priestesses of Breton cuisine. You can sense her love for Breton food in her books, blog, and cooking classes… And, obviously, at her restaurant in Lorient. Le Jardin Gourmand is in a traditional stone house with a beautiful patio and garden. Its sober, modern decor has been the perfect backdrop for good, local, and organic food for 25 years. Beauvais' commitment has earned her restaurant the environmental seal of approval. She reinvents her flavourful market cuisine every day according to the season and what's available at the market. But she does have signature dishes, like oysters from the Bay of Quiberon and Guémené-sur-Scorff andouille (smoked pork sausage) on toast or a fillet of hake in a buckwheat papillote (parchment).
