Lagon I: like being on the deck of a steamboat

seafood

Built on stilts, this ‘top deck' on the sea is the only restaurant in Dakar to make you feel that you will soon leave the docks!.

At the entrance, you will notice an old diving suit in gold metal, blue and white floats, and giant sea-fishing rods. And then you even walk up a ‘gangway' to enter! When you are seated on the deck, in the shadow of its white and blue parasols, you'll feel that you're dining on the deck of a luxury liner on the high seas.

From your table, you will particularly appreciate the view of Gorée Island opposite and the beach of Anse Bernard below. At Lagon I, as you will have guessed, seafood is the specialty, and you can rest assured it has just been pulled from the ocean. Do you prefer the lobster salad with avocado or the squid seasoned with fresh herbs and lemon? Perhaps the mullet filet and shrimp served on a bed of leeks with cream and ginger? No matter your choice, all will be a delight. You will find Lagoon I a worthy outing for lunch or dinner but do inquire about their deep-sea fishing trips if you are so inclined.
