Lac de Nino, paradise lost

On the route of the mythical GR20, Lake Nino, located in the mountains, offers an invigorating walking getaway.

Lake Nino, the second largest lake in Corsica, has an exceptional setting for enjoying a hike.

Starting near Vergio Pass, not far from the forest house of Popaggia, take the marked trail to climb toward the Valdoniello forest until reaching the Bocca a Stazzona. After two-and-a-half hours walking, you will discover the vastness of Lake Nino and its pozzines (water wells, where it is forbidden to tread) where wild horses graze. Pass under the Capu a u Tozzu to then join the Col de Saint-Pierre. Again on the marked path, descend back to your starting point.

At about 14km and 6 hours of walking, this tour requires good physical condition and the preparation of a small backpack.
