Lokanta Maya: the star of the new Turkish cuisine

In the kitchen of Lokanta Maya, the chef and owner Didem Senol is developing a very contemporary take on Turkish cuisine. Reservations required.

The menu features contemporary Turkish cuisine, light and fragrant, by Didem Senol, the author of a bestselling book on Aegean cuisine. The chef insists on Turkish products, seasonal and organic if possible, which she sources from all over the country. It will be difficult to make your choice before so many promises.

The courgette fritters (mücver) are delicious, and so many customers have asked for the recipe that it is now written on one of the mirrors in the place. Located near the Karaköy quays, this is a must. Food critics and gastronomes flock there to taste the inventive dishes. Lunch prices are more accessible, and, in the evening, booking is essential.
