The soul of the Quebec poet Émile Nelligan inhabits this boutique hotel in Old Montreal. His poems are framed in the 105 rooms and suites of these three renovated warehouses that date from the 19th century.
The rooms are modern and cosy with their brick walls, their dark wood furniture, and their gas fireplaces. Continental breakfast and tea in the afternoon are served in the four-floor atrium, with garden and fountain. The roof terrace, open only in summer, offers light meals and beautiful vistas.
The hotel restaurant, Verses, features modern French cuisine and one of the best views over Old Montreal. A bar/brasserie called the Méchant Boeuf is open until 3:00 a.m., serving burgers, steaks, and seafood.
