Hotel Melia Habana: appearances can be deceiving!

charm

Under its austere façade, this hotel hides considerable charms only waiting to be discovered!

It looks somewhat daunting, like a dull concrete behemoth. Inside, however, is one of the finest hotels in the city, an establishment full of surprises, starting with its huge lobby enhanced by marble statues and pink paving stones, and decorated with spectacular fountains and elegant jets of water.

As usual in Cuba, designers made it a point of honour to decorate the interiors with enough vegetation to rival the rainforest. But the hotel's highlight is undoubtedly its pool: the largest in the country, it borders the rocky shore of the sea. This is a great place for a family stay: the rooms are comfortable and well air-conditioned, and the staff is helpful.

Ask for a room on the top floors, as they offer breath-taking views of the city or the ocean.
