Only opened in 2007, the Fasano Rio is already a legendary hotel, attracting stars and personalities from around the world. Facing the sea and overlooking the Ipanema beach, this is the second hotel of the Fasano family, who also has a splendid hotel in São Paulo.
The hotel's decor, by Philippe Starck, was inspired by bossa nova, and mixes materials and furniture from Brazilian craft culture with Greek marble and Argentine brick. On each of the seven floors, customers find the famous ‘Big Mama' armchairs of Italian Gaetano Pesce. The furniture in the rooms, which have panoramic views of the beaches, is by Sérgio Rodrigues and Starck. A stay at the Fasano requires you to do a small tour on the roof, where the bar and the huge infinity pool are located.
And don't forget the Al Mare, one of the most renowned Italian restaurants in Rio.
