Hofbraukeller: on the banks of the Isar, a beer lover's paradise

This hundred-year-old spot on the Isar River in the Haidhausen district is a family place with very reasonable prices.

Hofbraukeller is open from10:00 a.m. to midnight, giving you ample time to sample the many Bavarian beers on tap. In the friendly, relaxed neighbourhood of Haidhausen on the banks of the Isar, the

Hofbraukeller attracts people in summer to its beer garden, which is shaded by the majestic chestnut trees on the Wiener Platz. It is a festive atmosphere, and has been for more than one hundred years. A range of Bavarian specialties are served, at very honest prices, like Schweinshaxe (pork knuckle with grated horseradish and potatoes), and Obatzer (cheese with softened butter, onion, and paprika, eaten with a pretzel).

When winter sets in, the Neo-Renaissance building welcomes you in a rustic room with vaulted ceilings, while on the lower floor at night, the Café Maratonga becomes a dance floor. A babysitting service is also available.
