High beams on the Singapore Grand Prix

Published on 06-10-2016 Agenda

The Grand Prix Formula One race in Singapore, a spectacular night race, takes place in September on the Marina Bay circuit right downtown.

While it has only existed since 2008, the Singapore Grand Prix has speedily become incredibly popular thanks, of course, to the quality of the spectacle that it offers but above all because it largely takes place at night, the course being lighted all along with powerful spotlights. Imagine the bright band of the circuit, nestled against the bay amid the skyscrapers and just near to the race itself, an animated scene full of entertainment and concerts.

The lap record for this series of fast straights and winding, bumpy corners is held by the German driver Sebastian Vettel, four-time winner in Singapore, at 1:48.574 minutes. Last year, Vettel, driving his Ferrari, won the race in two hours and one minute at an average speed of 152.673 km/h.
