Hauz Khas: a walk in a bohemian neighbourhood

In Hauz Khas in the south of the city, antique dealers, artists, designers, and restaurants loudly sing ‘La Bohème'.

Until the 1980s, Hauz Khas was a village in the middle of residential neighbourhoods. Then fashion designers, artists, and architects discovered it, turning it into an ethno-chic enclave.

Start your day with a coffee or a chai (Indian tea with cardamom and milk) and a fortifying breakfast at Social. In the morning, walk along the streets of Deer Park. Then, especially if you love Indian cinema, stop at the All Arts shop, which sells movie posters and stills. Take a lunch break at OTB (Out Of The Box) terrace cafe where mezzes  revive your palate. Do not forget to make a detour to Nappa Dori for accessories and items dedicated to chic globetrotters. Check out Love Birds store, which is close by and known for its vintage fashion. As for Ogaan, their creed is contemporary Indian fashion. End your tour with a romantic trip to Café Bohemia, the most glamorous rooftop in Hauz Khas village, where music concerts and fusion cuisine will delight you.
