Fairmont Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten Hamburg: understated luxury

historical

On the shore of the Inner Alster, this elegant hotel is a fixture of the city.

Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten has a special place in the heart of Hamburg. Opened in 1897, it remained, for nearly a century, in the hands of the Haerlin family, who gradually added new parts to it. Its credo of ‘service, service, service', made it a favourite of the international jet set. Today, the families of local haute bourgeoisie come to dinner on special occasions.

Its 156 rooms and suites are showcases of unostentatious luxury. Antique furniture and thick carpets provide an atmosphere of earlier, more inviting epochs. While preserving tradition, the hotel has ceaselessly renovated. The Restaurant Haerlin's (two Michelin stars) aquarium dining room lets guests watch chef Christoph Rüffer in action. The Grill, in 1920s Art Deco style, serves one of the best Wiener Schnitzels in town. You can also test the tables at Doc Cheng's or the Café Condi.
