El Comendador: Spanish protection

charm

The commander has clout: he knows how to ensure your holiday is hassle-free.

The Commander runs a tight ship, and this is a remarkably quiet and peaceful place to stay. The ‘Comendador' refers to the family of Don Pedro Regalado Pedroso, senior member of the Spanish Order of Isabella the Catholic, who once occupied this mansion, which is now a hotel.

Built in the 18th century, the colonial-style building recalls the Moorish influences of the Old Continent. The tiny establishment, with its magnificent patio, is coupled with the neighbouring hotel, the renowned Valencia. Everything beams, shutters, railings is a bright-summer-sky blue, which produces a calming effect, and softens the omnipresent dark wood in the breakfast buffet.

The room decor is minimalist, with balconies, old ironwork beds, and baths that give them a special, very authentic character.
