Egrets Island and Blue Bay Marine Park

exploration

For a great escape to the heart of Mauritian fauna and flora, a boat trip to the nature reserve of Egrets Island and Blue Bay Marine Park is the thing.

Egrets Island is natural poetry. On this small 25-hectare island, plants and animals—among the rarest of the island—live in perfect harmony.

Trees with strange names like beefwood, wooden pipe, rat wood, and palm bottle intertwine their roots. Indigenous birds, giant tortoises, and many other specimens are studied and protected. The Blue Bay Marine Park, among the most beautiful diving sites on the island, surrounds this magnificent coral stone.

Discover more than 50 varieties of live coral, and tropical fish by the thousands, either by glass-bottom boat, or with a mask and snorkel.
