Drift off course to Mangenie Island, and discover Restaurant Crusoe

beach restaurant

When Mauritius seems too crowded, Mangenie Island, sister of Deer Island, has the desired tranquillity. Its castaway Restaurant Crusoe welcomes tourists, who are decidedly more epicurean than Robinson ever was!

From Deer Island, you take a small sandy channel to get to Mangenie Island, which offers a beach of pure white sand and translucent turquoise water. Suddenly, the breeze brings you delicious scents.

At the Crusoe, the ‘Robinsons' are busy in the kitchen. Here, simplicity is king as you seat yourself at wooden tables of contagious friendliness, just metres from the salt water.

The Mauritian dishes have pretty motifs and are laden with fresh lobster and grilled fish. For dessert, banana flambé, crepes, and coconut ice cream top off your meal.
