Discover the forest of Ospedale

exploration

The forest is one of the characteristic landscapes of Corsica. Here, in the region of Porto-Vecchio, Ospedale is a high hilltop village named after a former hospital.

The pine forest that extends over this territory is enchanting. A lake and a waterfall round off this setting at 950 metres altitude. A trail will take you to the beautiful waterfall Piscia di Gallu (count one hour), which is an impressive 60 metres high and well worth the short hike.

There are several hiking trails between pine forest and scrubland. The smells of the woods give way to the softness of the Mediterranean vegetation.

For the more resourceful, several rope trails have been installed in the forest trees for an unusual experience that is cool even in summer, and only a few kilometres from the beaches.
