Once a no man's land, this Miami neighbourhood has become a design mecca, and one of the most sought-after areas in the city.

North of downtown Miami, this area was almost deserted in the 1980s and 1990s. Today it has the largest concentration of art galleries and design shops. Besides contemporary art, antiques have also settled in this area, as well as artists, attracted by low rents.

There are also many bars and restaurants. Walk a little further north toward Wynwood, where the warehouses of yesterday have given way to galleries and artists' studios. Private museums have also emerged.

The most renowned is the Margulies Collection At The Warehouse on 27th Street (which has been around for more than 15 years), and the Rubell Family Collection, two streets away. Admire the many painted frescoes on the facades. It seems that the whole area has now become a museum…
