Decumani: the 17th century made affordable

Share the residence of the most famous church authority of Naples, Cardinal Sisto Riario Sforza (1810 – 1877).

In the heart of old Naples, the Decumani is a former palace that used to house the private apartments of Cardinal Sisto Riario Sforza, then the Archbishop of Naples.

Built in the 17th century, this hotel of historic charm has a ballroom with arching ceilings, which sparkle with golden candelabras, and a shiny black grand piano. The antiques spilling out of the interiors of the Decumani are evidence of its illustrious past. The 22 rooms are more simply decorated, with shining white walls and high windows, and are on offer at a seductive price.

After having taken your breakfast in the ballroom, explore the historical sites in the area. Walk to the beautiful Santa Chiara church and take the older streets of the neighbourhood to understand why UNESCO considers this area ‘the largest open-air museum in the world'.
