Dawdle in the best neighbourhoods

shopping

Saint-Honoré or Saint-Germain? Colette or Sonia Rykiel? Concept store or pop-up store? Right Bank or Left Bank? In the midst of all these shopping choices flows the glittering Seine.

Since 1997, the concept store, Colette, close to Place du Marché Saint-Honoré, has been at the top of the trendy list. An eminently cosmopolitan store, this is where people come to find the latest trends. Fashion, design, music, photography, publishing, beauty, high-tech, and even perfumes and watches recreate themselves every season, and this is where you find them. If you happen to walk past in the middle of the night, you might even see Colette Rousseaux herself putting together the new windows.

The spirit of ‘unfashion' and the red-headed flamboyance of Sonia Rykiel still remain at the boutique on Boulevard Saint-Germain. Last year, it hosted a pop-up devised by André Saraiva and Thomas Lenthal, the artist and director of Paradise magazine. Forty thousand books adorned the walls of the shop for Sonia Rykiel is also a woman of letters.
