Embark. Visit. Explore. Disembark.

Marseille is one of the cruise-ship capitals of the Mediterranean. The main port of Provence and France's main embarkation port, more than 1,315,000 passengers landed here in 2014.

Marseilles, as seen from the sea, is by far the most spectacular way to view the city. And just a few kilometres away are Aix-en Provence, Cassis, Bandol, the Pays d'Aubagne, the Alpilles, Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, Baux-de-Provence, Arles, the Camargue, the Luberon, and Avignon.

Many come ashore for a quick visit to beautiful Marseilles and its surroundings. And just as many use it as a launch pad. For a change of scenery, climb aboard one of these impressive boats, which look like floating skyscrapers, and set sail into the full riches of the Mediterranean world.
