Cheonggyecheon: a soothing stroll in the heart of the megalopolis

Escape the hectic pace of the city on this charming walk among spectacular murals and fountains.

Spanning six kilometres, this artificial waterway was completely renovated in 2005.

The river and its 22 bridges are favourite strolling grounds for Koreans and tourists alike. During the day, enjoy the art of five renowned contemporary artists on the Wall of Culture at Ogansumun Bridge, which sports colourful murals more than 10 metres in length. At dusk, the river becomes even more charming. Take in the fresh air on the quays and admire the reflection of the landscape on the water and the fountains, especially the dynamic colour projections on the arches under Ogansugyo Bridge.
