Chagall exhibition at the Hélène & Édouard Leclerc Art Foundation

Published on 05-26-2016

Since 2012, the Hélène & Édouard Leclerc Art Foundation has become a tent pole of breton culture. Eagerly anticipated, the Chagall exhibition is the latest proof of that fact.

Not far from Brest, the Hélène & Édouard Leclerc Art Foundation in Landerneau is home to two to three major exhibitions each year. This vast artistic venue shall present the “Chagall, From Poetry to Painting” exhibition, which will have major coverage. International and private museum collections granted access to the major works of this painter, engraver and designer, born in Russia and naturalized as a French citizen.

Bible school, revolutions, war and exile fueled Chagall's creativity. Still, the Leclerc Foundation exhibition is set on revealing the links between this important 20th century artist and literature and poetry, using seminal texts from Gogol and Shakespeare, as well as the artist's contemporaries Apollinaire and Malraux.
