Cervejaria Ramiro: running in the family

seafood

Open since 1956, this family restaurant specialises in exceptional seafood.

This landmark of Lisbon cuisine spans several floors of a building in the popular area of Martim Moniz.

Lobsters and prawns in giant aquariums are on view on the usually noisy ground floor, while the calmer first floor room is decorated in a more intimate spirit, but still with a maritime theme. For starters, the liveried waiters will suggest pata negra or other excellent Portuguese and Spanish hams. Order the house specialty: perfectly cooked mussels, shrimp, crab, langoustines or prawns with garlic all accompanied by Sagres, an excellent local beer.

For big crowds or birthdays, a private room is available.
