Camden Market: from underground to picturesque

shopping

A worthy outing to a colourful London neighbourhood, with shops, cafés, and pubs, on weekdays or weekends.

Originally an underground scene, the Camden Market is now one of the major tourist attractions in London. You can buy the latest fashions, have a bite to eat, or check out the books, art, and collectibles here. The most famous area is Camden Lock, whose eponymous locks are on the Regent's Canal, north of Regent's Park.

If you are in the mood for a crowd, come on a weekend for a boisterous atmosphere, or opt for a weekday if you prefer a more leisurely stroll. In either case, enjoy the storefronts decorated with whimsical sculptures or the stalls selling vintage clothes, original crafts, or international cuisine.

Finish off your walk with a beer in memory of Amy Winehouse at her favourite pub, The Hawley Arms.
