Bukhansan National Park

nature

A breath of fresh air just outside the capital.

Ideal for a Sunday getaway, Bukhansan National Park is popular with Seoulites.

It is best in the autumn, when the vegetation takes on a coat of shimmering colour. This green expanse in the heart of the largest Korean metropolis is also a place of worship. A succession of temples and Buddha statues line the path to the top. Enjoy a moment of peace and healing in Geumsansa Temple, and admire the door of the old fortress Bukhansan. Go all the way to the summit of Peak Jaunbong the view of Seoul below is breath-taking.

A well marked trail is the easiest way to the top, but if in doubt, ask at the reception about the best route to follow.
