Brasserie des Halles de l'Île: a place on the water

brasserie lounge

At the decidedly urban yet idyllic Les Halles de l'Île, sample local wines as the Rhône river flows by.

With its lounge atmosphere in a long city-centre building that juts out over the Rhône, this brasserie is accessed via the bridge from the island and a courtyard whose patio is one of the liveliest places to be in summer.

With large windows opening on to the river, the setting is exceptional. The interior is a contemporary nod to the building's industrial past. With its stainless steel bar echoing the building's oblong shape, the lounge is the perfect place for a relaxing after-work drink or pre-dinner apero.

The house offers a good selection of wines, including local ones. The Brasserie des Halles de l'Île is also developing a music scene, with DJ sessions, dancing on Sundays and Wednesdays, and live jazz and blues. All with a great view!
