Brasília Palace: sleeping in the 1960s

museum hotel

Designed by Oscar Niemeyer himself, the Brasília Palace Hotel is a designer must for a date with history, though it is also the most sought after of the capital.

The Brasília Palace, which was one of the first buildings erected in Brasília (completed in 1958), is an iconic building amongst the many works of Oscar Niemeyer. In addition to many other illustrious guests, it has hosted Queen Elizabeth II and Che Guevara.

If you are a lover of architecture and design, its clean lines and very modern style will captivate you, as will its many other qualities. Completely renovated in 2006 and located in a tranquil setting on the shores of Lake Paranoá near the Palace of the Dawn (Alvorada), it enjoys a beautiful wooded setting.

Its 156 soft-toned, modernist rooms offer you the greatest comfort. The hotel also has a wonderful restaurant, Oscar, where you can enjoy Italian cuisine featuring a variety of fresh pastas. An outdoor pool and fitness centre complete this legendary address, leaving you happily immersed in the atmosphere of the 1960s.
