With nearly 100 shopping centres in town, the competition is fierce, so the proprietors use their imagination to compete for visitors. This one chose to take Ibn Battuta as the common thread.
This great Arab explorer is considered the Marco Polo of the Middle East. To celebrate his 30 years of travels and travel narratives, the place is divided into six different geographic areas that let the visitor go from China to India via Egypt, Persia, Andalusia, and Tunisia. Go back in time admiring the beautiful shop fronts from another era. The 275 stores are spread in six pavilions, where you can find such large retailers as Deben hams, the famous Sharaf DG store dedicated to electronics, and Paris Gallery, for perfumes.
You can also enjoy a cinema complex with 21 theatres and the only Imax screen in the region. Even if you have no intention of going shopping, visiting this unique setting is worth the trip.
