A night at the Opera

art & culture

A spectacular architectural presence, built in 2008 directly on the fjord.

Dressed all in glass, the building astounds by its modernity and beauty. This immense sculpted space symbolises all the attention that Norwegians bring to art and culture. Its large white marble roof makes it possible to walk along the promenade that is, surprisingly, found there, and to enjoy stunning views of Oslo and the Oslo Fjord.

One of the facades is equipped with solar panels that provide the building with a part of the energy it consumes. Lovers of ballet and classical and contemporary music will enjoy the remarkable programme of this cultural institution, which has been a big hit with both the Norwegian and the international public.

Its main auditorium is considered to be one of the most sophisticated in the world. The opera offers exciting, behind the scenes tours of the life and functioning of the monument. You can also reserve a table in the delightful Silver Restaurant before the show, and so enjoy the view over the fjord. A gala evening you will not forget.
