1911 refers to the year when New Delhi became, once again, 200 years later, the capital of India.
The year is celebrated in the decor, through antiques, photographs, and lithographs; 1911 also being the year when King George V and his queen were crowned emperors of India at Durbar.
Spread over three areas in an Art Deco style, the restaurant serves world cuisine, and the waiters wear royal guard uniforms. The bar is stocked with more than 500 varieties of eaux-de-vie, whiskey, and, of course, India's national cocktail, the Gimlet (gin and lemon). That this place was voted best whiskey bar in the world by Whisky Magazine in 2012 comes as no surprise.
